Both in the Sierra de Gredos Mountains and in the Tiétar Valley, one can find varied animal life, including rare species of birds such the black stork and Griffon Vulture.
The mornings at Hotel La Canela commence with a concert of birdsong that extends and changes throughout the day, with the call of the nightingale extending into the late hours. From the hotel one can also observe, among others, bee-eaters, azure-winged magpies, swallows, goldfinches, robins, martins, hoopoes, strixes, blackbirds and several types of eagles and vultures. We recommend to bring binoculars.
